Microbiology is the study of microscopic organisms. They may be unicellular, multicellular or a cellular.
Pathology is the branch of medical sciences that deals with the examination of organs, tissues, and body fluids for the diagnosis of disease.
Pathology means study of diseases (Pathos: Disease; Logos : Study). This subject answers the questions why, how and indicates what can be done. It includes Histopathology (diagnosis from microscopic examination of small pieces taken from diseased body part), Haematology (tests related to blood), Clinical chemistry (tests like urine examination) and Biochemistry (chemical parameters like Blood sugar, cholesterol etc). Pathology Department is well equipped and staffed to initiate the students in the basic theories, concepts and pathological processes leading to disease, including microscopic diagnosis, judicious use and interpretation of different tests.
Medical microbiology is the science of living organisms that are only visible under the microscope which includes various branches. Students study various microorganisms responsible for diseases in humans. The methods of laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases and vaccine production have been revolutionized with the development of latest technologies. Therefore, a thorough knowledge of microbiology is essential to every healthcare worker. Student can learn the basic techniques of microbiology, various sterilization and disinfection procedures.
The Department of Pathology and Microbiology of SKRP Gujarati Homeopathic Medical College, is well-equipped department
Pathology & Microbiology is taught for II BHMS students according to the syllabus prescribed by MPMSU, Jabalpur.
Practical classes trains students in various Pathology & Microbiology exercises which include Haematology, Bacterial Staining, Urine and stool analysis etc.

Objectives
At the end of the course, the B.H.M.S. student will be:
- To enable students to know the reaction of man to differentmorbid factors causing disease.
- To discriminate symptoms of the patient & disease & substantiate miasmatic perspective with pathology for an accurate homoeopathic prescription.
- To correlate subjective & objective symptoms with underlying pathology, interpret clinical symptoms & make them competent in diagnosis & management of disease to make a complete homoeopathic physician.
